Electrical takeoff & estimating software

Electrical takeoff and estimating you can trace back to the plans.

Select a symbol on your PDF and find matching shapes across selected drawings. Review item types and scope, correct the counts, and export quantities linked to their source.

Use your own material and labor rates to price reviewed work. Symbol matches require review; conductors and raceways are not measured automatically.

The workflow

From drawing to a bid you can stand behind.

An estimate is easier to trust when every quantity stays connected to its source. Metruno keeps drawings, review, and pricing in one traceable workflow.

01

Upload the plan set

Bring the PDF drawing set into the project. The original file stays attached while Metruno processes the sheets.

02

Select a symbol and review matches

Choose an example on the drawing and search selected sheets. Check item types, exclude false matches, add missed items, and separate new work, existing items and removals.

03

Set pricing and labor

Carry reviewed quantities into materials, labor rates, overhead, and markup.

04

Finalize and handle revisions

Lock the estimate when it is ready, and review source changes before creating a revision.

Review before you price

Keep every quantity connected to its source.

Open the drawing, verify the quantity, and see what changed before it affects the estimate.

How does symbol counting work?

Select an example on your PDF and choose which processed sheets to search. Metruno finds similar shapes, including quarter-turn rotations and small size differences. You check item types and scope, exclude false matches, add missing symbols and save source-linked quantities. Each count supports up to 200 matches; split larger searches into sheet groups.

Does Metruno automatically count every electrical item?

No. Symbol counting starts with examples you select and requires drawing review. Similar shapes can represent different item types. Changed symbols, large size differences and poor scans can need separate selections or manual counts. Conductors and raceways are not measured automatically.

Can I review what Metruno finds?

Yes. Quantities remain connected to the source drawing so you can open the sheet and verify, add, or remove items before pricing.

What happens when a reviewed quantity changes?

Metruno surfaces the change before you create a revision so the final estimate does not silently change underneath you.
